Knees Go fiqure
Well to make a short story long I first blew out my knee on July 4th 1991, I was 21 years old. I was in the Army and some friends of mine where on a rodeo team. Well they talked me into doing it with them. I was always an athlete so I fiqured what the heck sure. At the time I was 6.0 ft tall and 275 lbs and was a power lifter. Well anyway I got kick by a horse and blew my ACL,MCL,PCL, and tore my medial meniscus all in one shot. In a matter of 3 months Was down to 197lbs, being on crutches in Humid Germany in the summertime just melted the fat and muscle off me. The surgeon who rebuilt my knee didn't repair the PCL, he made the acl to short and I was stuck at 10degrees extension. Now i was fine with this for a long time My legs got back to equal size I was running again doing everything I did before except rodeo. 2 years later I was medically discharged from the Army even though I never went on sick call complained I all but maxed my PT test. Yet they still put me out. I lost the first job I ever loved. After arriving at home i bounced from a cpl of jobs married my wife and now have 2 beutiful children. I had my ACL rereplaced (not a word I know) and was doing great again playing with the kids doing what ever I wanted (mostly anyway). Then last september I twisted my knee at work and have been on modified work since then I have had my knee cleaned out, I have had synvisc injections, And now i wear a brace to change the positin of my knee when I walk to leesen the pain. My dr says I am to young at 30 for a knee replacement whichis what i need to be able to function again. He also said i am a canidate for a Hitibial Osteyotomy, thats where they realign your knee so the effected side dosen't do weight bearing. My kids are getting older now and daddy can;t run with them anymore, ca't crawl on the ground without taking 15 mins to get up. And is starting to get worried about not having a job to support them. I'm to the point i don't know what to do anymore, I do have a lot of insurence through work and vetrens associations. My boys are the beneficiaries. I'm am just so tired of not being able to function like i used to.
