Knee Injury at Work

Four weeks ago I tripped over a child at work (I am a photographer) and injured my knee. I went to the mergency room that night due to swelling, pain, and discoloration. The ER Doc said I sprained it and to keep it immobalized four a "couple of days" and then to go my physician. The second trip to the doctor I was told to be careful with it for two weeks and then it would be fine. I finally saw my regular doctor for two appointments and he ordered an MRI. The MRI showed a partial tear in the Quad Tendon and a strained medial ligament and I was referred to the orthopedist. I saw him today. He gave me no immobalization, no pain relief, and decided I had dislocated the patella and that the tear and strain were fine. He actually could dislocate and relocate the patella in the office. After than visit, I was in axcruciating pain and have had to take the night off work where I am on light duty. He recommended physical therapy, but the physical therapist would like to know that I have healed before we start that. My regular doctor recommended durgery to repair the issue and then physical therapy. Anyone have any suggestions? I have four small children at home and my husband is being stationed in Texas soon, so we are tryingto get ready to go and I need to get back to my regular life ASAP. I just wish someone could give me a straight diagnosis. I have now had six sepaprat diagnosies in a four week period. Please email me at liberalthinker22@aol.com if anyone can help
