Motorcycle accident/BAD knee injury I'm a 24yr old Police officer of three yrs. that was not very smart and purchased a motorcycle.(offduty) I was in a wreck, came off of the bike and my leg hit the ground causing my tiba to come out of my knee resulting a compound fracture. The asphalt shaved some of the upper tiba bone off, ripping out ligaments, cartlidge and lots of tissue. I have had a total of five surgeries and one to come this month. I'm lucky to have my leg, they were talking about amputation. The Dr. said I may never return to work, but I will have to prove him wrong. I love my job very much!!! My leg is stiff right now due to scare tissue build up.(Pain and sweeling) The next surgery will consist of cutting the scare tissue loose for movement, reconstuction of the 4 ligements, and a ex-fixator on my knee for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Then will come lots of rehab!! Everyday is a battle, but I have a great girlfriend and family that is supportive!! Whom ever may read this, listen to me when I say "Things are very hard at times and you don't think your going to make it, but be strong, and NEVER give up".
