Severe PFS

Hi Everyone! I am 18 years old, and I was diagnosed with PFS when I was 13. At that time i was active in Softball and Volleyball. The pain wasn't too bad at first, just troubling me here and there. It started right after I had dove for a ball during volleyball, my kneepad slipped down, and my knee smacked the floor pretty hard. After that i started having the pain, then i was diagnosed with PFS. I stopped playing volleyball, becuase my doctor told me to. I still continued to play Summer Softball though. My Sophomore year in highschool the pain started getting worse. I went back to my doctor and he told me that I need to do PT, So I did. They taught me strengthing techniques for my VMO and taping. None of this worked. My doctor had such a negative attitude towards me that I didnt' want to go back to me. So I didn't. The pain had calmed down and wasn't so bad. When I was playing sports I would wear a brace and it seemed to help. My Junior year of Higschool I was struck by a truck (as a pedestrian) It hit my left knee, which was the knee I had had problems with. They didn't find any damage through x-rays, but after getting an MRI they discovered a lot of cartilage problms, and a torn meniscus. they also found a plica, which they said could be causing the pain. The pain was worse then it has ever been in my life. November 2002 I had arthroscopic surgery on it. They cleaned everything up and what not. I didn't have any more problems with it until now. I'm a Freshman in college, and I started having worse problems then before. I recently had a cortisone shot, that seemed to help for the first week, and now the pain is becoming worse. I'm 200 miles away from my OS, and I'm thinking about seeing him during thanksgiving to see what my options are. I am on a full-ride scholarship for softball, and I do NOT want to quit! I want to get through this!!! If you have any questions, comments, or advice PLEASE contact me!! My email address is ocenablue22@earthlink.net, or you can contact me through MSN messenger at Frenchy013@hotail.com I would greatly appreciate it!!
