mircofractures and still in pain

I needed some advice. I injuried my knee 7/5/03 at work I'm a nurse in the CCU. I worked from that date until 9/10/03 before some thing was done. I was under drs. care and had a MRI that didn't show any real damage. I continueed to work I exoerienced lots of pain and swelling, I iced my knee after work to reduce swelling. these measures continued until 9/10/03 when my OS decided that he would scope and check out what wae going on, he found that I had torn the chondryl surface of the head of the femur to the bone. During surgery he performed mircofractures and trimed the synovim. I was on crutches for 6 weeks, upon starting to walk I have experienced the same pain and swelling as before surgery. The pain at time is very severe to the point I can't continue in any activity for 10-15 mins. I informed my OS and he thinks that the synovim has becomed inflamed again and thickened. Can someone tell me is this what is supposed to happen. I'm doing pt. working out with weights has become very painful. I can't work like this and I can't take care of my children. Would it be better to have partial replacement? Please someone let me know what they have gone through, how long will I be out of work, my OS won't even discuss when he thinks I'll be able to go back to work. I just need to know how someone else has gone through. Thank you, Jennie.
