Softball and MCL/ACL damage I was in a softball game when I went to catch a fly ball. I slid on wet grass twisted my knee. I couldn't walk or anything. It hurt worst than anything I have ever experianced. I went to the E.R. Then two days later I went to my orthopedic doctor and he said I completely tore my MCL and partially tore my ACL. I had to miss the rest of my softball season. But I was really lucky, My ACL was still intact enough that I didn't need reconstruction. So I was on crutches and a hinged knee brace for eight weeks until I started rehab. I was in therapy for about four months. I still have problems with instablility and my knee giving out. I was fitted with a hinged sports brace so I could return to gym class.
