Questions about knee surgery On November 15, 2003 I fell while helping my husband move our hot tub. To make a real long story short, I ended up with a left tibia plateau fracture and was put in an immobilizer until I saw the ortho surgeon two days later. He confirmed what I was told in emergency and sent me for a CAT scan to see the extent of the injury. I was told I would be non weight bearing for 12 weeks and would require surgery on Dec. 8. However, on Nov. 27 I ended up in the h ospital with a serious colitus attack and was there for two week and had to miss my surgery date. It is now planned for Feb. 28 with 8 more weeks of non weight bearing. I'm told I will have a bone graft and would like to know if anyone else has experienced this and what I should expect.
